So he did it. Donald trump is now the President of the United States of America.
A man who gets upset when someone tweets on a nasty message at him, is now in charge of the most powerful military in the world. Does this mean he will bomb any country whose leader says something impolite about him? Will he launch the Nuclear Arsenal the United States has against a sovereign nation because they don't agree with his view of things? I am afraid the chances are he will.
For years Americans have armed themselves as per their 2nd amendment rights, to be ready to fight the federal government and any tyranny that it may invoke up its citizens. I am sure these mostly southern militias always thought it would be a Democratic leader they would have to rise up against, not a Republican. But then Donald Trump did run as an outsider and his narcissistic ways seemed to actually attract the radical right wing voter. Funny now that those same voters will be the ones to rise up against him.
So fear is spreading among Americans today as the new Fuhrer will be taking power. People will soon be swimming across the great lakes to get to Canada. They will hide in trucks, on rail cars and even make a run for it at border crossings.
Well as Canadians we have to be prepared. We need to start to set up tent camps close to our borders for the refugees to live while we take our proper time to vet each claimant. Those without proper documents will indeed have to be shipped back to the U.S. in the name of national security. Now this will upset many left wing liberals here in Canada, but we must maintain proper border security.
Loss of jobs to the cheap labour these U.S. refugees represent will be a major concern. They will be coming into their new country and be willing to work for minimum wage. Stealing away jobs from hard working Canadians. Even worse will be the extra strain on the social safety net, our dear welfare system which many Americans will most likely end up on. Why should we foot the bill because of their failed state?
My fellow Canadians. I think it is time to build a wall. A huge beautiful wall.

The Wynne Experiment
When the people of Ontario voted in a majority government for Kathleen Wynne, it must have been at best an experiment. Right?
After all, her Liberal predecessor was plagued with scandal after scandal, and was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. So how could a province vote for the Liberals again, especially delivering them a majority government? Well it happened and now people are seeing the errors of their ways, as the tax and spend Wynne government begins to rape the taxpayers of Ontario.
The latest new tax was to increase our car license stickers to an annual cost of $120. Only 5 years ago it was $75 to renew your car sticker, yet with these increases we have seen little infrastructure repairs done, yet we pay provincial tax on our gas for this very reason.
Now you may remember the budget of 2015 delivered by the Wynne government. It proposed no new taxes at that time. However it did propose a spending platform of a whopping $132.000,000,000. Yes count the zeros, that is Billions folks. Now how did she think she was going to pay for that with the government already in major debt, but promising not to raise any taxes to bring in more revenue.
The answer is cuts to services. Especially to our health care system. Her government continues to clash with Doctors and Nurses over pay and layoffs in the case of Nurses. She also is quietly cutting out programs within the health care service, which most people do not realize unto they find themselves in the position of needing it, only to be told the program no longer exists due to cuts.
Of course there is a new payroll tax, the carbon tax and let's not forget about the $70 million paid out in severance to people who never put in a days work, but had accepted positions for the now defunct Ontario Pension Plan. Think of how many nurses we could have put into our system for that kind of money.
Premier Wynne keeps tossing our tax dollars around into the wind, while infrastructure continues to crumble, public transit in our big cities remains far behind the rest of the world and of course the health care system is struggling to survive.
While we are far away from the next election, I hope Ontarian's will remember this failed experiment and put their vote behind another party with a solid platform and a caucus free of scandal!

All lives matter
So apparently Premier Wynn believes we have a racists province against black people. This after having a discussion with the leader of #Black Lives Matter, whom herself has recently tweeted racists comments against men and white people.
To understand how we got here lets back up to the beginning of these events.
On July 2015, Police were in a two hour stand off with a man holding a gun in an ally way. After hours of trying to deescalate the situation, the man made a threatening gesture with the gun and two officers fired their weapons which killed the suspect.
As always in these cases, the Special Investigations Unit or SIU, took over the case to investigate the shooting of the suspect. It was discovered that the gun was only a pellet gun (hard for responding officers to know) and the individual suffered from mental health issues. With this and all the evidence, the SIU cleared the officers of any wrong doing.
This lead to the group #Black Lives Matter to declare the suspect was shot because of his colour of skin as opposed to the weapon he was brandishing and threatening police with. The group began protesting and set up shop outside Police Headquarters where the protested for several weeks. This then lead to a march to Parliament Hill (Provincial) where a large protest was held.
During this protest Premier Wynn came out to meet with the group and was recorded as saying to them that "yes, there is a systemic problem against black people".
Well the Police Chief (whom is black) was not very happy with this comment, and properly voiced his displeasure with the Premier.
While this was going on, an earlier post from the leader of the #Black Lives Matter movement in Toronto, came to light. In it she states "Plz Allah give me strength not to cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today."Really......Allah, kill white people. Seems we have a radical Muslim racist leading the BLM in Toronto. I would suggest people think twice before following this individual in any cause as hers seems to be full of hate.
All lives matter people. And leave the hatred at home.

The Taxpayers Nanny
So our new Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has hired two new Nanny's to care for his three children. Not a surprise given his new responsibilities, but the fact he is billing the taxpayer for these services is concerning.
Remember back to the election run, when Justin said the rich should not get child tax credits? In fact he said he would personally donate his tax credit cheque to charity. So what has happened since then? Now he wants Canadians to pay for his child care.
In principle I am not really against our Prime Minister getting free day care, but he did campaign on helping the middle class and making the rich (those making over $200,000) pay their own way. Mr. Trudeau was rich before he was elected, and once again promised to lead by example by refusing government money to help raise his kids. Suddenly he now lives in government paid for housing and that doesn't seem to be enough. Now he is all for the taxpayer picking up the tab for his kids Nannies.
The average Canadian can only dream of having the services of a Nanny, but settles instead for a monthly cheque to help pay for their children's food and clothing. A much needed credit given the cost to raise a child in our country these days.
So if Justin can't even deliver on such a simple campaign promise after just weeks of being elected, what surely can we expect from him over the next 4 years in regards to his pledge to help the middle class Canadian.
We're watching Prime Minister!

Child Care Benefit another Harper lie
So all the taxpayers (with kids) just thought they got a little more richer.
The Federal Government announced with great fanfare the new increased dollar amount for the Universal Child Care Benefit. Increasing the amount to $2,000 annually for each kid under age six and $720 annually for each kid ages 6-17.
Now this sounds great doesn't it? Free money from the Feds to put into your wallet to help ends meet. Well by the TV ads this is exactly what Harpers Conservatives want you to believe. After all, it is an election year.
Well now the hard truth. The part the government is not formally telling you.
This money is taxable. That's right. They give and then they take back. But the trick is they don't tax you up front when they give you the money. It will come as a T-4 slip for you to declare on your taxes next year come February. For some this could push you higher into the next tax bracket which means you will get taxed at a higher rate.
So they give in July, you vote them back in come October and then come February its, oh, you owe us tax on that!
Even worse is another little fact the government is not openly telling you. Come income tax time you will no longer get the Child Tax Credit. It is being eliminated. For the average Canadian family with young kids this will be a loss of $30 per child on your return. BAM! They got you again!
Word of advice. The best way to help offset this scam is don't spend the money. Put it into a Tax Free Savings Account or add it to a Education Fund where it is also tax sheltered. In the long run this will offset the tax hits.
More advice. Don't be fooled into voting Conservative come October. You will just be asking for more lies from Mr. Harper and his Reform Fascists.

The Orange Wave
After 40 years of Conservative party rule in the province of Alberta, they swung far left in the latest provincial election and installed a NDP government.
People are starting to call it the orange wave as recently the federal New Democrats have risen in the polls from third place to a virtual tie for first.
This has left the ruling Conservatives stunned, as they have been putting all their money into advertising against the Liberals as we near our next Federal election. But the Liberals are polling dead last, maybe in thanks to the Conservative attack ads. But the benefactor has clearly been Tomas Mulcair and his NDP.
Jumping on this has been Mulcair who has been actively getting out and campaigning with the masses while the other parties are still putting together their agendas. This bodes well for the orange wave, which some hope come election day will be the orange crush.
Driving some of this is the recent passing of bill C-51, the so called "anti-terrorist" bill. It actually gives the government far reaching powers and takes away our rights and freedoms under our Charter of Rights.
Such things as the right to assemble and protest are now illegal. An environmentalist who climbs a building and puts up a banner is now a terrorist. Such "terrorists" don't have to be processed with due process as our laws dictate.
The NDP have declared they will repeal this bill if elected. As the official opposition in Parliament they have argued against the government vigorously on this issue. As freedom loving Canadians become slowly aware of what the Conservatives have done, they are moving to the support of the NDP, who have also taken a stand on abolishing the Senate.
So the summer and early fall should prove to be interesting on the political front, as the Conservatives will be trying to promise the sky in order to hold onto power, the Liberals struggle to find out where they stand and that orange wave comes crashing down and rolls ashore come election day.

Carbon Pricing
First of all it is not pricing people, it is a new tax. You have to like how politicians change around a few words to make things sound a bit better to the public. Well we are not all fooled. This latest stunt is just another tax grab, not a true concern about the environment.
The Ontario Liberals have signed into place a cap and trade rule for Ontario's industries. The basics are that each company buys some permits to allow for a set amount of pollution to be produced each month or year. Should they pollute so much that they use up their credits, they can trade for some credits from another company who has not required all their permits. This would allow the first company to continue to pollute with its new credit.
So at first look we say great, the polluters have to buy permits which the funds collected go into green projects to help the environment. Sounds good? Well not so fast. With these new "permits" (taxes) who do you think the companies will pass the added costs onto? That's right, the consumer. They will build this tax into the final pricing of goods they sell to us. So the end result is the cost of living goes up once again.
The government estimates it will raise additional revenue of 2.5 Billion dollars. Now if this actually went to public transit, clean energy or other green initiatives, that would be great. But we all (should) know that they will put it into general revenue and therefore fund what ever they currently want done.
Let's not be fooled again by this government, and start to speak out against this new tax now before you see the price of gas and other goods increase to further empty your wallet.

The Muslim threat?
Recent events both in the middle east and here at home would have one immediately shouting a call to arms against the growing Muslim threat against our country.
In Iraq we have seen the beheading of Christians and other groups of innocents who do not agree with ISIS and their view of Sharia law. Anyone who stands in their way of creating a new Islamic state are quickly dealt with, often in the form of death.
More disturbing have been the attacks here at home on our own soil and the few that thankfully police and CSIS have stopped. Seeing a soldier standing guard being shot and then our sacred Parliament buildings being violated brings any Canadians blood to boil.
But lets reflect on all of this for a moment.
First off it is a breakaway group who have radicalized the Muslim faith, that are producing and inciting these attacks. These thugs are even killing fellow Muslims who follow peace and not their version of Islam. In their perverted beliefs they think it is the end of time, and they must create a Muslim state of pure believers (their version of the Quran) that will survive the ultimate end game of Armageddon.
Over reaction is something else we must be careful not to do. Just look at the Federal Governments attempt to vilify the Muslim faith by trying to ban the Niqab. One can argue if women do actually wear these face veils voluntarily or if men force them to do so. But it certainly is not our governments place to pass laws on women's clothing.
So lets be careful not to paint all Muslims with the same brush. Most are peace loving and god fearing people. They must work to fix their disenchanted youth, which are the ones becoming radicalized and heading off to make trouble.
In this I am confident our police and other agencies through good intelligence will continue to protect us from those few who see glory in hurting others.

Self Employment Part two
In my last segment I concentrated on getting people interested in coding. Well I think I will continue in that direction with some more information.
First though I will revisit the other opportunities that exist for those of use wishing to look at self employment as a means of financial income and independence.
Taking a hobby or interests and turning it into a profitable business is always a great choice. After all you will like what your doing and look forward to getting up every morning.
Some people have taken baking and cooking likes and turned them into self employment opportunities. Have a great cupcake recipe? Turn it into a online business. Sell and ship from your home your fresh baked goods. Or you could rent a spot every Sunday at the local flea market.
Do you have a trade? Tired of working for someone else? Well turn your experience into a private business where you both boss and employee. Once again all you need to do is set yourself up online and wait for the emails or phone calls to come.
Notice how in both my examples I suggest for the self employment opportunity to set themselves up online. This is where the other growing opportunity presents itself. Every successful entrepreneur needs a good website to market their business and give people a way to reach them.
So learning to code can put you in the position to create these websites for other people from the comfort of your home, and the financial rewards can be great. The first step is to find an easy and fun way to learn. I still suggest the first step should be going to Codecademy where you can learn HTML and CSS the two main languages for making websites.
Codecademy has easy step by step learning modules that will show you your work as you proceed and take the time to explain what you are doing and why. This is also a helpful forum should you get stuck on a lesson and need feedback from your peers.
The site also has a small website building environment which is free to use and is great for testing out what you have learned and start to build you very own website.
Once you are comfortable with everything within the Codecademy site, you will want to venture out on your own and use an editor to create your own full multipage sites. Some of these are free and others cost a monthly fee. The best free editor I have found and still use today is Notepad ++
It has great features including many ad ons which help make your coding easier and faster. I highly recommend it.
With this editor you can create websites for fun and profit. So get coding today and find your new way to self employment from the comfort of your home computer!

Gas Prices Part Deux
When I last wrote about gas prices, the price for a barrel of oil was just under $100 and gas prices were fluctuating all over the place.
Today the price has plummeted to $69 a barrel yet gas prices for the most part in Canada have remained stable and high. In the GTA we on average pay about $1.13 per litre, while in Detroit USA, they only pay .87 cents per litre!? Once again Canadians are getting gouged at the pumps.
We (the world) are currently over producing 1 Billion barrels of oil a day. Yes, that's right, a day. Oil producing countries are all fighting for market share, which has led to an abundance of oil and hence gasoline. So the consumer markets in most parts of the world are adjusting to the supply and demand equation, except Canada.
Why can't Canadians get passionate about being ripped off the way we get about a hockey game. When our team loses two in a row, we boo, throw our team sweaters on the ice and beer at the team bench. We get timid though when companies or the government continue to rip us off. The government for sure is asking for the prices to stay high as they collect the 5% GST tax from every fill up. If prices fall as they should, they are out million of dollars of revenue. This is especially true of the federal government who has promised to balance the books next year, which just happens to be an election year here in Canada. The finance minister must be shacking in his boots as I know they projected revenue on Oil staying above $80 a barrel. Now he must tell the Prime Minister not to make to many tax credit promises as they don't have the money!
Yes even in the every day pricing of gas, it gets political. The provinces too are worried as they collect hefty taxes on our gas for their revenue as well.
Politics be dammed! We need the price break at the pumps. Just think how much of those saving could go to buying more Christmas gifts this year. Such spending would be real help to our economy. Or of course we could use it more wisely and pay down any personal debt.
Show us the money!!!!

Self employment?
For many Canadians who are struggling to find work for many various reasons, the prospect of self employment is an attractive one.
I have been looking to self employment as a way to secure income, as finding employment in my current field is unattainable.
The trouble is finding what your skill sets are and are they transferable into self employment framework. If you are skilled in the trades, making the shift to being your own boss is not that difficult. You can run your business from your home and go onsite to your customers to perform the work. The set up costs are minimal.
But what if you do not have a skilled trade to switch into your own business. Can you learn something new? Take a hobby and turn it into income? Some people have taken hobbies such as baking or sports memorabilia collection into a self employment opportunity. Using EBay or other such entities to buy and sell their collections on, with the focus on making a profit. Others have turned their cooking skills into a brick and mortar business, from which they sell their goods. These are all good formats, but some of us do not have transferable hobbies which can be turned into a business. So what are we to do?
Coding! Yes it is a growing field with many opportunities.
So how does one start, especially if you have been out of school for some time now. Well thankfully there are some free websites which are educational based and offer easy to follow courses to learn the different languages of code. Codecademy is one of the best free sites to learn how to code. It's courses assume you are a beginner and walks you thru slowly all the steps for the various languages which are used to create websites and more.
While I am still learning some new languages, I have enough under my belt that I am using a text editor outside of Codecademy that I am using to write my first website which could be posted to the internet. With this tool I will be able to build sites for others for a small fee. A great start!
So look at your skill sets, give it some thought. And if coding catches your imagination then start your journey today and I will guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Gas- Todays forcast
We have all spent years turning on the TV or radio to get the weather forecast for tomorrow. Even easier to do now with the Internet. But times have changed and now more changeable then the weather is the price of gas. So newscasts now give you the current price of gas and any knowledge of change to the price which may be coming overnight. Heck, there are websites solely dedicated to giving you the price of gas for the coming days. Just like the weather.
So what is with all the fluctuation. Up 2 cents a litre today and then 3 more the next, only to drop 6 cents 5 days later. Meanwhile the price of oil is currently stable and staying below that benchmark of $100 a barrel. Sometimes the excuse is on possible loss production due to golf of Mexico hurricanes, or European "stability". What does Europe's issues have to do with the price of gas in Canada? We have the 2nd largest oil reserves in the world. Yes that is right. More then those middle eastern countries who live prosperous lives and pay about 3 cents a litre for their gas.
Now all this gets one thinking. With all that oil, why is our gas so expensive. Even more then the United States. With the conversion, we are paying about $6 a gallon. Yet they almost riot in the US when it goes over four dollars a gallon. Here we just say oh well, what can you do. Maybe Canadian empathy is why we pay so much for gas. I mean its true we export all of our oil to the US and then have to buy it from Venezuela at world prices. Slightly crazy, but that's what we do. We are even in the process of selling several of our oil companies to the Chinese. With China now the 2nd largest manufacturer in the world, you know their not buying the companies to produce fuel for Canada. It will be all going across the sea, leaving us once again buying foreign oil to get our gas.
So you may want to add a gas website to your favourites or download an app to your phone. For today's gas prices will not be the same tomorrow.

Made in North America
So as the Conservative Party and current Federal Government, gets ready to hurt our farmers by eliminating the Wheat Board, now they want to reduce our safety standards.
In the name of quicker border crossing for commercial goods, the government is preparing legislation which would reduce Canada's higher food safety standards down to the level of the US. By doing this they claim our food we sell can cross into the US faster and visa versa for US imports. But are we really ready to settle for less safe food?
In a time when we in Canada have even seen Listera outbreaks and other food recalls, the number of people getting sick has never been near the levels they see south of the border. There where the food safety levels are less to help the big corportations, not protect the consumer, about 20% of food sold there would not be for sale here in Canada.
Did you know that in the US they can add vitamins to common cereal and then call it health food. No such lies can currently happen here in Canada, but if Mr. Harper has his way, such things will be able to occur. He will be sitting down soon with the US President and begin discussing a 32 point plant to change the food safey to a lower standard for Canadians.
So as our Prime Ministers continues his quest to make us the 51st state, Canadians will get sick, be mislead by product labels, and our product will proudly boust "Made in North America".
